So I’m a professional proprietary trader with 7+ years of experience which means my results are above average. But was it always like this? The short answer is no. I made huge losses at the beginning burning my trading accounts, living from literally paycheck to paycheck and even getting into debt. (For the videos scroll down)
Trading is extremely dangerous for people who have no clue what they’re doing but it is a very lucrative business for those figure out the secret.
Let’s start at the beginning and show you my road to success. Back in 2013, I started an investment society at the University of Greenwich, London. The team participated in the UK Trading Challenge where we won 3 years in a row beating fancy universities such as Cambridge. Little after graduation I got a job at a back office at a leading market data provider. I can’t tell you how much I hated that job and struggled for 1 year to survive. One thing I knew is that I wanted to be on the trading floor in a bank or hedge fund so I constantly applied for jobs in the meantime.
One day I received a call from a headhunter and the next day I was called in to an interview at a Tower 42 top floor at level 41. It was a Korean Hedge Fund with the most exclusive interior design I could imagine. Long story short I got the job and I become an associate at the fixed income trading desk and I also had the opportunity to move around and try equities, futures, bonds and FX trading.
At the end of 2018 my father passed away so I had to move back to my home country. It was a devastating time for me and I was struggling with trading for a few months. So I decided to step back a little and enjoy life but that wasn’t for me so I started to teach some of my friends how to trade.
It was an amazing experience to see how they grow their accounts and made money. Not to mention the constant thank you messages I received from them :D.
